The company was started in 1965 as Phillips Fibers Corporation, a subsidiary of Phillips Petroleum Company based in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Phillips Fibers was headquartered in Greenville, South Carolina with sales and marketing offices and research and development on one campus. Phillips made filament filament yarns for home products, furnishings, industrial filament and staple and industrial non-wovens.
