Chapel Hill, NC (April 19, 2004) - Fabrics made from Marquesa Plush , the recently introduced, highly-engineered yarn from American Fibers and Yarns Company (AF&Y), will be featured by 45 manufacturers at the April Furniture Market in High Point. Marquesa Plush combines the aesthetics of premium priced yarns with easy-care properties including durability, stain resistance and cleanability.
Marquesa Plush yarn is currently featured in fabrics manufactured by Culp and Joan Velvets, and will be shown by Berkline, Benchcraft, Best Chairs, La-Z-Boy, Mastercraft, Norwalk, Stylecraft and many other furniture makers. A complete list of manufacturers, patterns and colors will be available at the AF&Y exhibit, space #618 on the 6th floor of the Furniture Plaza Building. The list is also posted at www.afyarns.com.
"The rapid market acceptance by so many top-line furniture makers is extremely gratifying," said Michael Apperson, AF&Y CEO, "and it validates our business strategy of using technology to give our customers a competitive edge. The Marquesa Plush fabrics being shown in High Point will give consumers the aesthetics they seek, without sacrificing the durability and easy-care properties they are increasingly demanding."
Apperson added that AF&Y is also being aggressive in helping furniture makers deliver the Marquesa Plush story to consumers. "To help get the story out, we have developed hang tags, merchandising displays and a demonstration video," Apperson said. "We are also engaged in sales training programs with several manufacturers and are discussing a number of other marketing possibilities. Marquesa Plush is gaining an incredible momentum in the marketplace and we remain willing to help anyone who wants a competitive edge in selling to their customers."
