Chapel Hill, NC (September 29, 2005) – Aerated Home Fashions (AHF) has teamed with Culp Home Fashions and American Fibers and Yarns Company (AF&Y) to introduce a Canadian line of mattress pads with stain-proof, antimicrobial Marquesa yarn technology.
AHF, based in Montreal, will manufacture the mattress pads and distribute them throughout Canada at major department stores, retailers and boutique bedding shops. Made with fabric supplied by Culp, the mattress pads feature Marquesa yarns from AF&Y. Marquesa yarns are made from synthetic fibers, engineered to be incredibly soft while maintaining inherent easy-care and antimicrobial characteristics.
“Today’s consumers are looking for healthier sleep alternatives,” said Leslie Evans, AHF Product Development, “and these new mattress pads are a perfect solution. Utilizing Marquesa technology allows us to offer our department store and retail customers a truly differentiated product, an easy-care mattress pad with inherent qualities that provide a cleaner, fresher sleep environment.”
Michael Apperson, AF&Y president and CEO, said the extension of the Marquesa brand throughout Canada is “a significant development in our marketing efforts. The Marquesa performance story is gaining substantial momentum, and consumers are beginning to realize the true value of inherent performance -- stain resistance, bleach cleanable and antimicrobial.”
