There just doesn’t exist a better yarn for thermalwear, anywhere. Innova offers both features in one product that translates into warmth and performance in thermalwear. Innova stays dry and retains body heat better than any fiber, natural or synthetic.

Because of Innova's outstanding performance characteristics it is specified by the U.S. military for their Extended Cold Weather Clothing System (ECWCS). ECWCS is a five layer clothing system for military use in extreme environments such as Alaska, Bosnia and now Afghanistan. Innova is used as the base layer underwear, the skin contact layer of the ECWCS system. If the skin layer does not perform, the other five layers cannot do their assigned jobs of keeping the soldiers dry and warm.

Innova thermalwear stays dry because our yarns are hydrophobic. Hydrophobic is defined as "water hating" meaning that no moisture is absorbed into the yarn or fabric. Perspiration moves away from the skin through the garment to the outside of the garment to be evaporated.

Innova thermalwear retains heat because it has the lowest thermal conductivity rating of all natural and synthetic fibers. Thermal conductivity is the rate at which a substance loses heat. A low rating means more heat retention and innova is even warmer than wool.
