The Trace® family of yarns is making significant inroads into areas once dominated by nylons and polyesters. This progress is due to AF&Y's lead role among fiber producers in the additive technology. These additives enhance the fiber properties and render it an inherent performance characteristic which make these yarns ideal for areas other than the traditional residential upholstery. These additives are inherent and eliminate the need for elaborate, expensive, and non-durable post-finishing processes.
Plus FR
An enhancement over the first generation TraceFR, Trace Plus FR is a fiber that is inherently flame resistant (IFR). Flame retardent additives are locked into the yarns during extrusion to give fabrics added flame resistance. This eliminates the need for topical FR treatments which are expensive and non-durable. Trace Plus FR may eliminate the need for barrier fabrics.
